Writing is Hard

Writing is hard

Sometimes it’s the easiest thing in the world, and the words just flow from the tips of your fingers, effortless and perfect and true. But most days –

Most days it’s difficult.

There are a million other things that suddenly seem important when you sit down to write – for me it’s my fashion blogging duties or eating food – and it takes all your willpower to just stay at at your seat, let alone write actual words. Some days I just have to walk away. But more often than not, when I kick my ass in gear and really force myself to focus, the words come. I might think as I get them down how awful they are, but at least they’re words, and when I read over what I’ve done later –

You know, it’s usually not half bad.

If you’re having one of those days, know that you are most definitely not alone.

  1. When I was working on my manuscript over Christmas (I’ve even given up even going near it during term time) I found one person mini dance parties were brilliant for this sort of thing!

    1. Haha YES I love one person dance parties! x

  2. The gif you chose for this post is so totally perfect. I think I’ve done exactly that several times while working on a new WIP.

On the really tough days, I find that just getting out and going for a walk can be really helpful!

    1. That’s true! I should have done that today but I was too lazy 😛 x
